Hello all. My name is Clarissa and I'm new to the forum. I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer for me.

My husband and I recently moved back home to Florida from Georgia. While we lived in Georgia we each obtained our GWL (Georgia Weapons License).
My question is now that we are back in Florida and are legal residents are our GWL allow us to carry or must we obtain the Florida carry permit to carry? Our GWL's won't expire for another 3 years. I know that Florida and Georgia have reciprocity but does that cover when you move from one state to the other?

As you are now a Florida resident and you'll be getting a Florida driver's license, among other things, I'm thinking your Georgia permit is now not valid as it was issued to you as a resident of Georgia.

I'm thinking that showing an LEO a Florida DL and a Georgia CCW might bring up a few problems should push come to shove.

These are just my own PERSONAL views on it.

If Georgia has a "non-resident" permit, then you may be on firmer ground.

Andy is correct. When you move to Florida with an out-of-state permit from a reciprocal state, Florida will honor it for 90 days. After that, you must have a Florida license to carry here.
